The FRS Tools plug-in allows you to track an inventory of resources which are consumed by mailouts. You begin by defining one or more resource types (e.g. pamphlets, brochures, letters, envelopes, etc). For each resource type, you can configure the available stock and record the unit cost as it changes over time.
Rates
Every resource type should be assigned an initial unit cost. As the cost changes over the lifetime of the resource, you can record the new unit cost and the date on which it takes effect. You can retrospectively adjust the costs; any changes are automatically propagated to reports and mailouts.
Stock
When a quantity of a resource type is obtained, the date and quantity should be recorded under the Stock tab. Each mailout which uses the resource type will post an entry which reduces the available stock of the resource. You can also make adjustments to the stock manually (e.g. if the resource is recycled or disposed of).
