A menu represents the contents of the screen in E-Receptionist, including tiles, text, images and more. The user can navigate from one menu to another, and you can establish a hierarchy of menus to determine what happens when the user clicks 'Back' or 'Home'.
E-Receptionist starts on the main menu. If no activity is detected for a certain length of time, the user is returned to the main menu. Completing certain actions (such as making a telephone call) cause E-Receptionist to return to the main menu.
Menus have the following general properties:
- Title - Shown at the top of the screen, below the header.
- Message(s) - Scrolling along the bottom of the screen as a marquee.
- Parent - The menu above this menu in the hierarchy.
- Layout - Determines how content is laid-out on the menu. Items can wrap over two rows or a single row/column.
