In ContactsLaw, it is possible to open a department or workgroup in a tab, in the same way that a contact tab or the practice tab may be opened. In the same way files open under contact tabs, workgroups open under the tab for their department. Once open, a workgroup tab contains summary information, management settings and reports pertaining to the workgroup.
 
Access to workgroup tabs (and management settings) is controlled via workgroup permissions. The system administrator member and workgroup manager members implicitly have full access to all areas on the tab.
 
Workgroup tabs are a useful mechanism for scoping information and settings to a particular area of work.
