Users of ContactsLaw will encounter several different types of user prompts throughout the application. These may be questions, warnings, confirmations or informational messages.
It is recommended that new users begin with all prompts enabled, however more experienced users can control which prompts are shown via the application settings:
- Show all - ContactsLaw will show all types of prompts. Some warnings and important confirmation prompts will include a countdown timer to prevent the user from dismissing the prompt without reading the message.
- Non-trivial - ContactsLaw will suppress 'trivial' messages, such as when an operation completes successfully or when a process is performed automatically. Countdown timers will be removed from all prompts except warnings.
- Warnings only - ContactsLaw will show only warnings, and all countdown timers will be removed. For other types of questions and confirmations, ContactsLaw will automatically answer 'Yes' or 'OK'.
- None (expert mode) - ContactsLaw will never show warnings, questions or confirmations. Only prompts which must be shown to the user are retained and all countdown timers are removed.
Care should be taken when using the warnings only or expert mode settings, as some of the questions previously asked by ContactsLaw will be answered automatically in the affirmative.
Note: When a ContactsLaw process runs non-interactively (such as in the ContactsLaw Daemon), the system will behave as though the expert mode setting had been used.
